Children are for the first time to be given the legal right to have a proper relationship with both their parents after a divorce, The Telegraph can disclose Ministers intend to rewrite the law in an attempt to ensure that fathers get improved access to their offspring after a marriage breaks down.

Currently,family courts decide to leave children with their mothers in the vast majority of divorce cases.

Campaigners have long complained that without a legal right to see their children, fathers can be excluded, particularly when a split has been acrimonious. By creating the new right for children, ministers hope that judges ruling on custody disputes will ensure more equal access for both parents.

A ministerial working group will be announced on Monday to decide how the Children’s Act 1989 needs to be amended.

According to the Office for National Statistics, one in three children, equivalent to 3.8 million, lives without their father. Ministers are particularly concerned about boys growing up without a strong male influence.

Eighty per cent of single parents in Britain are fathers.

The announcement will give hope to campaign groups that have argued for years that fathers deserve a legal right to more equal access after a divorce.

It will also overturn the main finding of an independent official review into family justice by David Norgrove, which reported in November. He concluded that it would be too onerous for judges to ensure greater equality of access.

Ministers are bracing themselves for a backlash from single mothers’ groups that are concerned about the possibility of aggressive fathers intervening in the lives of their children.

The working group, comprising education ministers Tim Loughton and Sarah Teather,and justice minister Jonathan Djanogly, has been asked to come up with proposals on how the law should be changed within two months.

Campaign group Fathers4Justice claims that every day 200 children lose contact with their fathers because of decisions taken in family courts. Under the plans the1989 Act could be amended to include a “presumption of shared parenting”, this newspaper has learnt.

Mr Loughton last night told The Daily Telegraph: “The state cannot create happy families, or broker amicable break-ups.

“But if children are having decent, loving parents pushed out of their lives, we owe it to them to change the system that lets this happen.”

One official said the Government wanted to remove any “inbuilt legal bias against the father or the mother” in the law. The official said: “This is about the children. Both parents should have a full and continuing role in a child’s life after they separate.

“Where there are no significant welfare issues, we would want to see this principle reinforced through law. We will make a legislative statement emphasising the importance of children having an ongoing relationship with both their parents at separation, when it is safe and in the child’s best interests.

Mr Norgrove originally proposed a right to equal access in law for both parents last March and then dropped it from his final 220-page report in November.

He said it would put too much pressure on judges to set out the exact length of time that each divorced parent should spend with their children.

Mr Norgrove, who chairs the Low Pay Commission, cited evidence from Australia which suggested children suffered more when courts imposed time limits on access to parents.

Mr Loughton, who had campaigned to change the law when in opposition, suggested Mr Norgrove had read too much into the Australian example.

He added: “The concept of 'shared parenting’ after a break-up often gets confused with the idea of equal time that a child spends with each parent.

“Quite clearly, ordinary living and working arrangements make an equal division impossible, and undesirable, in all but a small minority of cases.

“In all of this, the most important thing remains the principle that the child’s welfare is the paramount consideration and this must not be diluted.”

Ministers are also set to announce a £10million fund to encourage more parents to use mediation. Mr Loughton added: “The courts are rarely the best place for resolving private disputes about the care of children.”

With each passing year, the difference between America’s prisons and America’s public schools becomes smaller and smaller. As you read the rest of this article, you will be absolutely amazed at some of the crazy things that school children in America are being arrested for. When I was growing up, I don’t remember a single police officer ever coming to my school. Discipline was always handled by the teachers and by the principals.

But today, there are schools all over the country that have police officers permanently stationed in the halls. Many other schools will call out police officers at the drop of a hat. In the classrooms of America today, if you burp in class, if you spray yourself with perfume or if you doodle on your desk, there is a chance that you will be arrested by the police and hauled out of your school in handcuffs. Unfortunately, we live in a country where paranoia has become standard operating procedure. The American people have become convinced that the only way that we can all be “safe” is for this country to be run like a militarized totalitarian police state. So our public schools are run like prisons and our public school students are treated like prisoners. The United States has the highest incarceration rate in the world by far, and our schools are preparing the next generation to either “do time” in the prison system or to live as good little slaves in the Big Brother prison grid that is being constructed all around us. But what our schools are not doing is giving these children the critical thinking skills that they need to live as free citizens in a nation that used to be “the land of the free and the home of the brave”.
Of course very few people would deny that the character of American schoolchildren has changed dramatically over the decades. Back in the 1950s, some of the biggest school discipline problems were gum chewing and hair pulling. Today, kids bring knives, guns and drugs with them to school. Gang activity is rampant in many of our schools and in some schools kids are evenhaving sex in the school bathrooms.
So there is definitely a discipline problem in our schools.
But what is going on in many areas of the country is absolutely ridiculous. For example, in 2010 alone police down in Texas issued an astounding 300,000tickets to school children.
Yes, if a kid pulls a knife on someone the police should get involved, but teachers and administrators should be able to use some common sense and handle the vast majority of discipline problems that happen themselves.
What you are about to read is absolutely going to amaze you. The following are 19 really crazy things that school children are being arrested for in America….
#1 At one public school down in Texas, a 12-year-old girl named Sarah Bustamantes was recently arrested for spraying herself with perfume.
#2 A 13-year-old student at a school in Albuquerque, New Mexico was recently arrested by police for burping in class.
#3 Another student down in Albuquerque was forced to strip down to his underwear while five adults watched because he had $200 in his pocket. The student was never formally charged with doing anything wrong.
#4 A security guard at one school in California broke the arm of a 16-year-old girl because she left some crumbs on the floor after cleaning up some cake that she had spilled.
#5 One teenage couple down in Houston poured milk on each other during a squabble while they were breaking up. Instead of being sent to see the principal,they were arrested and sent to court.
#6 In early 2010, a 12-year-old girl at a school in Forest Hills, New York was arrested by police and marched out of her school in handcuffs just because she doodled on her desk. “I love my friends Abby and Faith” was what she reportedly scribbled on her desk.
#7 A 6-year-old girl down in Florida was handcuffed and sent to a mental facility after throwing temper tantrums at her elementary school.
#8 One student down in Texas was reportedly arrested by police for throwing paper airplanes in class.
#9 A 17-year-old honor student in North Carolina named Ashley Smithwick accidentally took her father’s lunch with her to school. It contained a small paring knife which he would use to slice up apples. So what happened to this standout student when the school discovered this? The school suspended her for the rest of the year and the police charged her with a misdemeanor.
#10 In Allentown, Pennsylvania a 14-year-old girl was tasered in the groin area by a school security officer even though she had put up her hands in the air to surrender.
#11 Down in Florida, an 11-year-old student was arrested, thrown in jail and charged with a third-degree felony for bringing a plastic butter knife to school.
#12 Back in 2009, an 8-year-old boy in Massachusetts was sent home from school and was forced to undergo a psychological evaluation because he drew a picture of Jesus on the cross.
#13 A police officer in San Mateo, California blasted a 7-year-old special education student in the face with pepper spray because he would not quit climbing on the furniture.
#14 In America today, even 5-year-old children are treated brutally by police. The following is from a recent article that described what happened to one very young student in Stockton, California a while back….

Earlier this year, a Stockton student was handcuffed with zip ties on his hands and feet, forced to go to the hospital for a psychiatric evaluation and was charged with battery on a police officer. That student was 5 years old.

#15 At one school in Connecticut, a 17-year-old boy was thrown to the floor andtasered five times because he was yelling at a cafeteria worker.
#16 A teenager in suburban Dallas was forced to take on a part-time jobafter being ticketed for using foul language in one high school classroom. The original ticket was for $340, but additional fees have raised the total bill to $637.
#17 A few months ago, police were called out when a little girl kissed a little boy during a physical education class at an elementary school down in Florida.
#18 A 6-year-old boy was recently charged with sexual battery for some “inappropriate touching” during a game of tag at one elementary school in the San Francisco area.
#19 In Massachusetts, police were recently sent out to collect an overdue library book from a 5-year-old girl.
Unfortunately, what is going on in our schools is a reflection of the broader society as a whole. Our schools are being turned into prisons because our entire society is being turned into a giant prison.
Our nation is rapidly heading down the toilet, and the children of this nation do not have a bright future to look forward to.
If the police really want to find some criminals, they should start investigating some of the sickos that are in charge of some of these classrooms.
It seems like almost every day now there is a news story about some public school teacher that is involved in some kind of really perverted stuff.
For example, just check out what police down in Los Angeles recently found that one teacher was hiding….

A former Los Angeles elementary school teacher has been arrested for felony molestation of nearly two dozen students, accused of gagging children and putting live cockroaches on some of their faces. Deputies say the crimes were committed on campus.

Sickos who do that kind of stuff to kids should be punished very severely.
America’s schools are changing, and not for the better.
Personally, I went to public schools all my life, but I would not recommend that anyone send their kids to public schools today. There is just way too much crazy stuff that goes on.
And our kids are learning less than ever in these public schools. As I have written about previously, many of them are coming out of the system as dumb as a rock. Instead of teaching our kids how to think critically and examine all sides of an issue, these schools are indoctrinating our kids and pushing particular social and political agendas on them.
There are a few public schools out there that are still good, but the vast majority of them are horrible. They are not producing the leaders of tomorrow and they are not preparing the next generation with the tools that they need to survive in a complex world.

2012 INTERNATIONAL MEN’S DAY: HELPING MEN AND BOYS LIVE LONGER, HAPPIER, HEALTHIER LIVES

In the run up to International Men’s Day 2012 (Monday 19th November) we’re asking supporters of the day to focus on five key challenges that will help us improve the health and wellbeing of men and boys all over the world.

Some of the universal health issues that men and boys in all countries around the globe face include lower life expectancy, difficulty accessing mental health services, educational disadvantages, lack of male role models and tolerance of violence against men and boys.

To help us focus our collective minds upon helping men and boys live longer, happier, healthier lives, the five key challenges that the International Men’s Day team is inviting men and women all over the world to address are:

1. IMPROVING MEN’S LIFE EXPECTANCY:

From the moment a boy is born he can expect to live a shorter life than his female counterparts in all but four countries on the planet. There is also a huge gap in life expectancy between rich and poor countries with men in Mozambique reaching an average age of 38 while in Iceland, Israel and Switzerland men live twice as long until the age of 80. There are also huge gaps in life expectancy within countries, with men born in the poorest parts of the United Kingdom, for example, dying 10 years sooner than their fellow countrymen in the wealthiest parts of the capital city. Boys are not genetically programmed to die young so our first challenge this International Men’s Day is to ask countries taking part to consider how we can help all men and boys live longer, happier, healthier lives – no matter how poor they are and no matter what country they are born in.

2. HELPING MEN GET HELP:

Every year poor mental health drives over three quarters of a million people to commit suicide – and around two thirds of them are males. Men and boys all over the world can find it more difficult to access help for mental and emotional health problems and most prison populations include a significant number of men with mental health issues. This International Men’s Day we are asking participating countries to consider how we can help more men and boys get the help and support they need and to take action on behalf of the hundreds of thousands of men who will take their own lives this year.

3. IMPROVING BOYS’ EDUCATION:

Poor education is linked to poor health outcomes later in life so improving boys’ education will also help men and boys live longer, happier healthier lives. This International Men’s Day we are asking people to explore why boys in richer countries are underperforming girls and also less likely to be in education, and why tens of millions of boys in poorer countries are still not completing a primary education? How can we address truancy and poor literacy rates which leave boys prone to adult unemployment, substance abuse, obesity, depression and poverty? What action can we take to focus on boys’ education in a way that closes the gap between girls and boys, addresses the gaps between rich boys and poor boys, and helps us to improve the long-term health and wellbeing of all men and boys.

4. TACKLING TOLERANCE OF VIOLENCE AGAINST MEN AND BOYS:

Violence has a major impact on men’s health all over the world. Every year over half a million people die from violence and 83% of them are men and boys. The same proportion of the global burden of disease (ill-health, disability or early death) from violence is borne by boys and men. Yet while there are now a number of deserved global campaigns to tackle violence against women and girls, there are no such campaigns to help men and boys. Why are we so tolerant of violence and abuse against boys and men and why do we still tolerate a world where we send boys and young men to fight wars on behalf of the adults in power? This International Men’s Day we are asking for actions we can take to help men and boys live in a less violent world and challenge our collective global tolerance of violence against men and boys.

5: PROMOTING FATHERS AND MALE ROLE MODELS

Fathers and male role models play a vital role in helping boys make a healthy, happy and positive transition from boyhood to manhood. How can we give boys a right to family life that gives them an equal opportunity to know and experience both their father and mother and ensure that their role as a future father is equal to girls’ role as future mothers? Giving boys a range of positive life choices in terms of family, work and leisure can help us reduce the number of boys whose choices are limited and end up poor, illiterate, unemployed, homeless, imprisoned and isolated. This International Men’s Day we are asking what actions we can take to give all boys access to a variety of male role models and ensure their country’s laws and practices give them an equal right to fatherhood, with all the support they need to be the best fathers they can be.

Addressing each of these challenges will help us to help men and boys all over the world to live longer, happier, healthier lives, which is why we are inviting supporters of International Men’s Day to join us in taking on one of more of these five key challenges in 2012.

The question occurred to him after several weeks of unemployment: "Why," Eric Price asked himself, "do I even want a job?"

Price had to abandon his cubicle in 2008 when the national economy tanked and his company slashed half its work force.

The recession, for reasons that economists are still debating, affected a disproportionate number of men.

Seven males lost their jobs for every three women who were laid off, which inspired somebody to coin the term "mancession."

"I needed to make a living," said Price, who's raising two children. "But there's more than one way to do that. I didn't want my whole life to revolve around the office."

Forget the traditional, 9-to-5 desk job.

Price began taking freelance IT work, keeping himself busy at least 20 hours a week, but never a full 40.

"It's strange," he said, "that we work all the time when we're young and our children are young, all for the hope that someday we can retire, when maybe we're not as healthy as we used to be and our children are all grown up and gone.

"I want some of that free time now."

Like Price, an increasing number of men are taking part-time or temporary work, a job market long dominated by women, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Women used to be three times more likely than men to have part-time or temporary jobs.

Now women are only twice as likely to have those jobs, and men are catching up fast.

Most reports blame the recession for pushing men to take whatever work they can find. Part-time or temporary is better than nothing.

But here's another theory.

"It's a lifestyle choice," said Carey Baker, president and CEO of Tulsa placement agency Part-Time Pros.

"Men are looking for flexible hours, even if it might mean accepting less money, because they want to spend time with their kids."

In other words, the change seems more generational than economic.

In 1975, a majority of mothers still stayed home with their young children, according to the Labor Bureau.

By 2007, nearly three out of four mothers worked outside the home.

As they entered the job market, women struggled to balance careers with family life. Men faced changes, too.

The average American married man with children now performs 30 percent of all household chores, double what the average husband did in the 1960s.

And men are taking more responsibility for child care.

In 1977, the average father spent just two hours a day with his children.

Now he spends twice that much time with the kids, putting in roughly the same hours as the average mother.

"Men don't see themselves as just the bread-winners anymore, because they're sharing that responsibility with their wives," Baker said.

"Now men want to be a bigger part of their kids' lives, and I think that is driving them into part-time work more than the economy."

The statistics seem to agree, showing that the trend started long before the current recession, according to Labor Bureau archives.

Until the mid-1970s, roughly 8 to 9 percent of men held part-time or temporary jobs, a statistic that had held steady for generations.

Then the numbers began slowly but steadily increasing, crossing 10 percent in the late '90s and reaching 13.2 percent in 2009.

If that doesn't sound dramatic, consider that it represents 4.5 million men - more than the entire population of Oklahoma - moving from full-time to part-time work, a 90 percent increase over the span of just one generation.

"Life is too short to spend all of it at work," said Brett Baker, who gave up his job as a Tulsa firefighter last year to work with his wife at Part-Time Pros.

"I want to be there when my daughter gets out of school. I want to be at the recital. I want to take her to the park."

Technically, Baker works full time and then some, spending up to 60 hours a week on the job. But he sets his own schedule, and that's what more men are wanting.

"It's getting away from that old sitting-at-the-desk, watching-the-clock model of doing business," he says. "You want a job that fits into your life, not the other way around."

At the time, I did not appreciate it. In fact, I thought it was downright bizarre, even offensive. You see, she used science fiction as part of the pedagogical material. At the time, I wondered what that had to do with the precise metes and bounds of the law, and with the tidy world of justice. Now I think she was onto something. Reason is overrated. The rawest of passions are on display in the family courts. I suspect that is because any divorce is one part murder, one part suicide and one part utter chaos. We are not rational animals. Science fiction helps reconceptualize the hidden ties that bind us one to another; hence the genius of Weisbrod’s use of science fiction. On the few times I appear in family court, it is usually in a post-judgment context, where things have gone horrible awry. I don’t get the hard and fast edges of a financial dispute; my cases involve the blood and gore of broken hearts, and battles over children. Nothing in my legal education prepared me for family court. Little in life did so. Family court is an emotional wasteland with hollowed out souls crying out in the hallways. It is a holocaust. Last fall, I completed half of a course the court’s now require of guardians ad litem for minor children. It is not that I want to appear in such a role in court. I do not. But I was talking to Judge Linda Munro, the chief family court judge in Connecticut, one day and she asked me how I was doing. “The economy is a challenge, but I’ll figure it out,” I told her. “What just might drive me from the law is not knowing how to meet my client’s emotional needs.” I sat through three of the six sessions of the course. (I need to make up the other three this spring.) What I learned there was an eye-opener. But what I see makes me uncomfortable. There is a vast infrastructure of experts, therapists, counselors, social workers, court staff and lawyers in the state, all of whom know one another, and all of whom march beneath the banner of “best interests of the child.” When conflict arises in a divorce about what is best for the kids, there are programs, protocols and resources to throw at the warring parties. I am just not sure I can sign on to the mission, however. Do these folks have any better idea of how to heal the wounds created by a bitter divorce than does a well-meaning neighbor armed with good old-fashioned common sense? What I see in the cases in which I get involved is a regime that simply promotes and extends the conflict by other, and expensive, means. Sure, my sample of cases is very low and not statistically significant. Yes, I get involved only in high-conflict cases. But I am still uncomfortable turning decision-making in the courts over to theoreticians about how best to help children through their parents’ woes. I sat through a deposition the other day of an expert in parental alienation syndrome. I marveled as I listened to him opine about fault, influence and consequences. I found myself wondering, as I do in every divorce case I get involved in, whether the parties and the community might not be better off letting juries decide the issues without the benefit of experts. All this deference to the sensibilities of the children might just be creating a generation of entitled monsters. If Johnny gets to decide he doesn’t want to see his father and the experts say that is all right, what kind of expert is that? Juries bring community values and common sense to a courtroom. Why don’t we trust them with decisions in divorce and custody? I worry that the community of experts, judges and lawyers become inbred when they deal with one another month by month in these heartbreaking cases. Therapists really don’t know best. Plato argued in “The Republic” that the rearing of children was too important a task to be left to private parties. It was a job for the state. Perhaps he was right. Perhaps Weisbrod was right, too. We need to think outside the box about family court. Article 3 The performance of an act of parental alienation hurts fundamental right of the child or adolescent family life healthier, prevent the implementation of affection in relationships with parent and the family group, is moral abuse against the child or adolescent and noncompliance with duties attached to parental authority or from guardianship or custody.

Article 5 If there is evidence of the practice act of parental alienation in autonomous action or incidental damages, the judge, if necessary, determine biopsychosocial or psychological expertise.

§ 1 The expert report will be based on extensive psychological evaluation or biopsychosocial, as appropriate, including even a personal interview with the parties, examination of documents in the file, the couple's relationship history, split chronology of incidents, personality assessment involved and the investigation of how the child or adolescent is manifested about possible charges against the parents.

§ 2 The skill will be performed by professional or skilled multidisciplinary team, required in any case, proven by fitness professional or academic history to diagnose acts of parental alienation.

§ 3 The expert or a multidisciplinary team appointed to assess the occurrence of parental alienation will within 90 (ninety) days to submit the report, renewable only by judicial authorization based on detailed justification.

Article 6 Featured typical acts of parental alienation or any conduct that hamper the coexistence of child or adolescent parent, or incidental to autonomous action, the judge may, together or separately, subject to civil or criminal liability arising from and the extensive use of suitable legal instruments to inhibit or mitigate its effects, according to the severity of the case:

I - declare the occurrence of parental alienation and warn the seller;

II - expand the system of family life in favor of the alienated parent;

III - provide fine to seller;

IV - require counseling and / or biopsychosocial;

V - to determine the change of custody to joint custody or its reversal;

VI - to determine the setting of interim home of the child or adolescent;

VII - to declare the suspension of parental authority.

Sole Paragraph. Marked change of address abusive, impracticability or obstruction to family, the court may also reverse the obligation to take or remove the child or teen parent's residence, during the alternating periods of family life.

Article 7 The allocation or change of custody will be given preference by the parent that enables the effective coexistence of the child or adolescent with the other parent in cases where it is impracticable to custody.

Article 8 The change of domicile of the child or adolescent is irrelevant to the determination of competence related to actions founded on right to family life, unless the result of consensus between the parents or a court decision.

CDC Violence Survey: Unexpected Findings, Questionable Definitions

Stop Abusive and Violent Environments

This past week newspapers across the country were filled with headlines such as, “Nearly one in five U.S. women has been a victim of sexual assault.” The accounts were based on a report recently released by the US Centers for Disease Control called the National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey: http://www.cdc.gov/ViolencePrevention/pdf/NISVS_Report2010-a.pdf

But not surprisingly, the media got the story wrong. Here’s why.

IGNORING THE KEY FINDING

The CDC survey was originally designed to assess the extent and nature of intimate partner aggression, as well as the related areas of sexual violence, stalking, and psychological aggression. The CDC commendably wanted to analyze the issue in greater detail than previous efforts.

The most important conclusion of the survey was men and women have nearly equal rates of intimate partner violence, with 6.5% of men and 6.3% of women experiencing partner aggression in the previous 12 months (pages 43-44). This conclusion is consistent with previous CDC surveys and other scholarly investigations on this subject (http://csulb.edu/~mfiebert/assault.htm).

But SAVE’s review of media accounts did not identify a single story that reported this overarching finding.

SURPRISING FINDING: PSYCHOLOGICAL AGGRESSION

The 108-page CDC report contains other findings that challenge the received wisdom of many organizations in the domestic violence field. One of these pertains to psychological aggression. In the previous 12 months, 18.1% of men and 13.9% of women had experienced by their intimate partner, according to the survey (page 46).

Looking specifically at coercive control, men were 50% more likely to have experienced coercive control than women (Men: 15.2%; Women: 10.7%). Traditional domestic violence organizations often define domestic violence as a “pattern of power and control.”

Based on this formulation, women are clearly the most frequent perpetrators of abuse.

EXPLOSIVE CONCLUSION: REPRODUCTIVE CONTROL

One aspect of partner aggression centers on the issue reproductive control. Discussions of this topic typically portray the male as scheming to impregnate a wife or girlfriend who doesn’t wish to become pregnant. But the CDC survey shows the opposite scenario is more true.

The National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey reveals that 8.7% of men currently have an intimate partner who tried to get pregnant when he did not want to, or tried to stop either of them from using birth control. In comparison, only 4.8% of women currently have a partner who tried to get her pregnant when she didn’t want to (page 48).

So men are nearly twice as likely as women to be victims of reproductive control.

CONTROVERSIAL DEFINITIONS

The CDC report also contains information about rape and other forms of sexual victimization. But the CDC’s definition of rape is highly controversial, because in addition to “completed forced penetration,” it also includes “attempted forced penetration”and “completed alcohol/drug facilitated penetration.”

In the area of criminal justice law, a criminal attemptis not counted the same as the actual commission. For example, FBI homicide statistics do not include attempted homicides. So the inclusion of attempts artificially inflates the true prevalence of rape.

The inclusion of “completed alcohol/drug facilitated penetration” is equally problematic. It is not difficult to identify a number of scenarios in which actions thus defined as “rape”contradict any logical or reasonable conception of rape. For example:

A woman decides she wants to have sex with her partner. So she invites him to a bar where they drink five beers, then go to her apartment for sex.
A woman wants to have sex, so she goes to a singles party where everyone is smoking marijuana. She meets up with a man and they both decide to have sex.

Because of these definitional problems, SAVE concludes the CDC findings about sexual violence lack validity and are fundamentally flawed.

Citing a “history of twisting rape statistics,”columnist Robert VerBruggen likewise notes about the CDC report,“Researchers ask women about their sexual experiences, and then classify some experiences as ‘rape’ that most people, including the women themselves, do not consider to be rape.” (http://www.nationalreview.com/phi-beta-cons/285936/re-sexual-assault-and-college-robert-verbruggen)

MELBOURNE, Australia, December 12, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A study carried out by the Melbourne Institute of Applied Economic and Social Research at the University of Melbourne has found that adolescent boys who have a father figure in their lives are significantly less likely to engage in subsequent delinquent behavior than are their peers with no father in their lives.

“The sense of security generated by the presence of a male role model in a youth‟s life has protective effects for a child, regardless of the degree of interaction between the child and father,” said Professor Deborah Cobb-Clark, Director of the Melbourne Institute and lead author of the study

“Fathers provide children with male role models and can influence children’s preferences, values and attitudes, while giving them a sense of security and boosting their self-esteem. They also increase the degree of adult supervision at home, which may lead to a direct reduction of delinquent behaviour,” she said.

The study used American data from the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health. Three factors were studied in the role of fathers influencing youth delinquency: parental involvement and interaction, contribution to household income and engagement with a father figure by simply being present at home.

Unlike previous studies this research examined the full range of father figure roles and modern family structures, Professor Cobb-Clark explained.

“Our study included residential and non-residential, biological fathers and residential stepfathers and their influence on adolescent behaviours. Our detailed data also allowed us to simultaneously consider mothers’ relationships with their children as well as the multiple pathways through which fathers might matter.”

The study found that any form of delinquent behavior was reduced by 7.6 percentage points for boys who were living with their biological fathers, and 5 percentage points for those living with non-biological fathers only.

“Fathers are associated with a particularly large reduction in the incidence of violent behavior and gang fighting among adolescent boys,” the study notes.

The researchers also say that while increased involvement with their sons is related to decreased incidence of delinquency, the largest portion of the positive effects appear to be related to the mere presence of a father figure, regardless of the level of involvement.

“Overall, when taken together our results strongly suggest that much of the overall (baseline) impact of fathers on their adolescent sons’ delinquent behavior reflects the effect of fathers’ presence rather than their involvement with their sons or the financial contribution they make to household income,” they write.

The researchers found, on the other hand, that the presence of a father figure did not have a major impact on the levels of delinquency amongst daughters.

“Adolescent girls’ behaviours are less closely linked to this, which may be attributed to the inherent levels of risk-taking that vary between males and females,” Professor Cobb-Clark concluded.

Family First is rejecting claims by the Children’s Commissioner and others that rising child abuse statistics are ‘good news’ and ‘delightful’, and is repeating its call for a Royal Commission of Inquiry into child abuse as a result of continuing ‘tragic’ figures.
“It is time we stopped ‘marketing’ child abuse statistics and trying to give them a positive spin, under the illusion that we are succeeding. We need a reality check,” says Bob McCoskrie, National Director of Family First NZ.
“The rates of child abuse have been rocketing up for the last decade – even before the flawed anti-smacking law was passed and the Family Violence awareness campaign began. Between 2003 and 2007 alone, notifications more than doubled from 31,000 to 72,000. The latest statistics give no confidence that children are any safer.”
“To label our atrocious statistics as ‘good news’ and ‘delightful’ is an insult to the victims. Government groups cannot attribute the increase to greater awareness and better practice. The rates have been increasing markedly well before the public awareness campaigns, and the increase in admissions to Starship Hospital alone are proof that the problem is deterioriating.”
“Alcohol and drug abuse are rampant in dysfunctional homes, family breakdown is a festering sore, and there is increasing violence in our culture. These are all signs that things will get worse before they get better.”
“We have had Commission of Inquiries this year into the Pike river tragedy, the collapse of buildings and consequent loss of life in the Christchurch earthquake – yet no inquiry into one of the greatest social problems facing the country.”
“There seems to be no political party who is willing to front up to this issue on the scale required. Since the passing of the anti-smacking law, there have been at least 31 child abuse deaths. The rate continues unabated.”
“The ongoing rates of child abuse are a wake-up call that children will never be safe until we are honest enough as a country to identify and tackle the real causes of child abuse. An independent Inquiry free of political correctness and point-scoring is essential. We need long-term solutions to a problem that has existed for far too long,” says Mr McCoskrie.

The vengeful and vindictive Judge Burns mentioned (no relation thank God) was the former Law Society president who fobbed my legitimate Family Court complaint years ago.This miserable gender bias sod should not sit behind a bench that claims to act in the children's best interests. Child, Youth and Family says if it had known the violent history of a man convicted for murdering a six-month-old baby he was living with it would have intervened.
James Hemana, 31, has been found guilty in the Auckland High Court on Thursday of murdering Cezar Taylor.
The baby was shaken and dropped by Hemana on 13 July last year and died from severe head injuries in hospital 10 days later.
Hemana had previously admitted charges of manslaughter and failing to provide the necessaries of life, but maintained that he did not murder the boy. He will be sentenced on 8 March next year.
Hemana had been living with the baby's mother, Victoria Taylor, 21, at the time.
The department's chief social worker, Paul Nixon, says Hemana lied to social workers who visited Cezar Taylor's home and says they had no information that the boy was at risk of physical abuse.
Mr Nixon told Radio New Zealand's Checkpoint programme on Thursday a social worker was assigned to work with Ms Taylor, but says only later did the department learn that Hemana was threatening her and what he was doing to Cezar.

Police believe death could have been avoided

The officer in charge of the investigation says it has been a very disturbing case and Cezar's death could have been avoided.
Detective Senior Sergeant Richard Wilkie told Checkpoint on Thursday that prevention is the best defence against assaults on children.
Mr Wilkie said anyone who identified risks in a relationship to their children should come forward to government services and agencies.
Speaking to reporters outside the court, Mr Wilkie said the guilty verdict sends a strong message that children must be protected.
"We need to protect our children, our young ones. Police will do their utmost in providing a professional investigation and that working with the Crown we can put the best case forward."

Former student sues LSE over its 'gender bias' against men

The London School of Economics is facing legal action after a former student claimed its gender studies course was sexist - against men.

Tom Martin, who quit the university after six weeks, claims in papers lodged at the Central London county court that lecturers ignored male issues.
He is claiming some £50,000 citing breach of contract, misleading advertising, misrepresentation, and breach of the Gender Equality Duty Act.
The 39-year-old, who attended the university last year to take up a Gender, Media and Culture Masters degree, said there was "systemic anti-male discrimination". But he said an internal investigation carried out by the university in the wake of his complaints found "no evidence" of bias.
Mr Martin, who is representing himself, said: "The core texts we had to read before each class were typically packed with anti-male discrimination and bias - heavily focusing on, exaggerating, and falsifying women's issues perspectives, whilst blaming men, to justify ignoring men's issues. There was no warning of this sexist agenda in the prospectus."
He added: "They simply refuse to acknowledge the research which contradicts the 'women good/men bad', or the 'women victims/men perpetrators' storyline.
"Science does not come into it at LSE's Gender Institute. Like a religion, the curriculum simply insists, by repetition, attempting to drum the anti-male agenda into the students."
The university's legal team has asked for the case to be struck out, claiming the core texts were not compulsory, merely recommended readings, and that the texts were equally available for both men and women to read, so therefore did not directly discriminate against men. The team also argues that "any discriminatory effect [against men] was plainly justifiable".

A three-year-old boy was forced to eat a cigarette butt by his Child, Youth and Family (CYF) guardians.

Despite continued complaints, the boy and his brother were left with the Christchurch guardian family for five years.

CYF has begun an investigation into the caregivers, and no more children will be placed in their care until it is completed.

The boys were placed in the guardians' care in 2006.

Their mother, who approached The Press, has made a sworn affidavit to the Family Court in Christchurch in a bid to end the guardianship order.

She said she approached CYF for help in 2004 because of her "drug use" and "transient lifestyle" and a violent relationship with the children's father.

The affidavit refers to several CYF reports on the children.

In 2007, CYF was told one of the boys picked up a cigarette butt, put it in his mouth and spat it out again.

He was then taken inside the house and made to eat the cigarette butt and allegedly told: "If it's good enough for you to do it outside, it's good enough to do it inside. Go on, chew it."

The foster mother told CYF investigators she made the child eat the cigarette butt as he often picked things up and put them in his mouth.

The CYF investigator said the foster mother did not do it to punish the boy but to attempt to change his behaviour.

CYF was told the house was a "DIY bombshell", with the play area covered with debris and nails.

An investigator found the backyard was "not safe for any child to be playing in".

Another allegation of ongoing verbal and physical abuse towards the boy's brother was deemed to be unfounded.

In May 2010, a case report noted the children were "suffering alleged ongoing physical and emotional abuse by the caregivers".

It said the notifications of ongoing abuse were continuous, came from different agencies and could not be "assumed to be malicious". The children needed a new long-term home, the report said.

Two months earlier, the guardians told CYF workers looking into concerns about smacking that the children "do not get bashed" but got "a tap on the hand". They were told this was not a "good idea" by CYF as "it could open them up to accusations".

In October this year, the children were removed from the guardians' care.

CYF southern regional director Kelly Anderson said yesterday an investigation had started into allegations against the caregivers, "particularly around the way in which they have managed the boys' behaviour".

"Until that is complete, no children will be placed with this couple," she said. The boys were placed with the caregivers with the agreement of the family as a result of their mother being unable to provide care for them, she said.

"We have worked with the family over time to address concerns about parenting and how they were managing the boys' behaviour; for example, by requiring the couple to undertake parenting courses, further caregiver training and use of respite care," Anderson said.

All communication is received ... but 70-90% of the data is screened out or altered by the receiver. So what you say is NOT necessarily what the listener gets.
Listening is incorrectly perceived as not very powerful by most people.
Rates of speaking to listening: We listen at 1,000 to 1,200 words a minute. We speak at around 300 words a minute. Thus, our minds wander.
We have a strong cultural tendency to tune out.

Listening is a learned active engagement that is a key factor in successful parenting. We can all become better listeners to improve our relationships.

How to Make Good Things Happen

Your mind interprets everything you think as a positive thought. So if you think, 'I don't want to be poor,' your unconscious mind focuses on the "poor" and, because it doesn't do negatives, the thought becomes 'I want to be poor.' Being poor then becomes the goal in your unconscious mind. That's why stating goals in the positive is so important. In this instance, instead of thinking 'I don't want to be poor,' you'd think "I want to be wealthy."

Always focus on what you want, not what you don't want. The unconscious mind cannot process negatives. If I ask you "Don't think of a Pink Elephant" you will think of a pink elephant. Always give direction for what you want your children to think and do. The common example of saying to children "stop fighting" should reflect a desired positive outcome. "I want the two of you to happily play soccer in the backyard together".

When people expect good things to happen and believe good things will happen, they find that good things happen! Focus on what you want. Stay focused on the positive desired results. Imagine every minute detail of how those positive results will look, feel, hear, taste, smell, as if you have already achieved the positive results. Vividly imagine yourself happy and successful. You are then on your way to achieving the success you deserve and desire!

Your unconscious mind cannot tell the difference between what is real and what is imagined.

Your beliefs are fuelled by your faith in yourself, and by what you tell yourself through: thoughts, images, and feelings. You can enhance and fine tune these beliefs by listening, learning and practicing 'what you think' about and keeping what you find works best for you.

Give positive directions to your children. Clearly tell them what you want them to do, not what you don't want them to do.

Don't say "don't", say "Do this...(redirecting them to an appropriate positive activity)."

How we learn and remember

The human brain thinks in pictures.
The human brain learns - and remembers - new information by associating it to something it already knows.
The human brain remembers wild and outrageous things easier than the mundane.
The brain needs a trigger. Something needs to initiate the recall.

Making our Brain Learn Better

The brain centres involved in emotions are directly connected to the learning system. When they are activated, they automatically start the teaching circuits (chains of nerve cells). This is why emotional events—our first day of school, the birth of child, a parent's death—become so engraved in our memories.
We can take advantage of this natural learning booster by believing something is important. If we try to learn without feeling interested, very little of that information will be saved in our memories. But if we force ourselves to treat what we're learning as if it were vitally important, our brains will join in, and will trigger our learning circuits.
The difference is astounding. When they are not interested, people learn 10 percent or less of what they're taught. But when we are interested, we remember more than 90 percent!
The secret of a great memory is ‘original awareness’. When people say they forgot something, they usually mean they never remembered it in the first place. Awareness means paying attention and exploring different aspects of the subject matter.
Memory works by association. In order for you to remember any new thing, it must be associated with something you already know or remember. As you learn and remember more, you give your memory more "hooks" to add further associations. By doing this, you will rapidly become a genius!
Ensure you are clear, confident and prepared to be very straightforward with people and communicate what you truly want.
In general people in a learning situation retain:

“The below article is about a disgraceful act by Australia’s Family Law Courts, to completely destroy any shred of child protection provisions left in Australia’s Family Law act, by making an unprecedented apology to a malicious mother who has alienation her children against their father.

This is the Court, at its highest levels, over-turning a sitting Magistrates decision and rewarding a Mother who has engaged in Parental Alienation to an extreme degree, for no apparent legally justified reason.

You have to seriously ask why the Family Law act was amended by the Gillard Labor government recently when the Judiciary has already interpreted out any provisions designed to promote a child’s meaningful relationship with both parents.

Chief Federal Magistrate John H. Pascoe is a fool and an unfit custodian of a child’s best interests for sinking so low as to apologise to such a malicious woman, all in the name of appeasing women’s groups. This is the kind of precedent that will encourage Parental Alienation as the standard tactic for getting sole custody of your children, especially if you are an unfit parent.

To all separating Australian Mothers, message from the Court: ‘We encourage you to involve your children in divorce proceedings, to their detriment, and to alienate them against their father. If you do so, we guarantee that you will get sole custody, even if we have to sack a sitting Judicial Officer for acting in the best interests of your children.’

Just keep one point in mind here..the federal Magistrates Court has tried to sack a Magistrate who did nothing worse than act according to the law, and in the best interests of the children. A SYDNEY mother has received a written apology from the chief of the Federal Magistrates Court after her three children were removed from her care for refusing to visit their father.
In a letter of a type rarely seen in Australia, Chief Federal Magistrate John H. Pascoe said he was “very deeply concerned” at the distress the mother suffered after her children were taken from her.
He said the treatment the mother received in court was “quite inconsistent with the aims of the court in dealing with family matters” and added: “I have a great deal of sympathy for you.”
The woman, who cannot be named, was accused in court of “poisoning” the children against their father by involving them in the custody dispute. The children were twin boys aged 14 and their 12-year-old sister.
The magistrate in the case, Joseph Harman, told the woman he believed she was doing irreparable psychological harm to the children by not encouraging them to see their father.
In a hearing at the Parramatta branch of the Federal Magistrates Court, Mr Harman said the children would have no relationship with their father if they were allowed to stay with their mother. He based his ruling on the findings of a court psychologist.
Under the laws on shared parenting brought in by the Howard government in 2006, couples were encouraged to “co-parent” their children after divorce.
The Senate passed amendments to those laws last week. Men’s rights groups have complained the Labor government is winding back shared care, but women’s groups say the amendments are necessary to protect children from harm.

When Mr Harman told the Sydney mother he had decided to send the children to live full-time with their father, her lawyer immediately objected, saying the “extraordinary” move “would remove the children from the mother, instantly, with no communication whatsoever”.

Mr Harman replied: “That’s a bit like what happened in June-July last year, when the children were removed from any time with their father, and haven’t communicated with him since.”
Counsel for the mother told the court the children had become hysterical when told of the order, and were refusing to leave the court with their father.
The magistrate said this was typical of children who had been taught to fear their father.
The mother left the court “distressed and about to vomit” and an ambulance was called. Two NSW police officers attended the court after the children began damaging court property in the foyer.
The mother’s lawyer then told the court that if the children were forced to go with their father they would run away.
“That’s why I’ve invited the Department (of Community Services) to intervene,” Mr Harman said. “If they don’t comply, they will be in a refuge. They won’t be going home with mum.”
Two senior child welfare officers from the NSW Department of Community Services were called to the court. Mr Harman told them: “We have two children, sorry, three children, two of whom are twin boys who have just turned 14, so young, strong and full of testosterone, and a 12-year-old girl.
“They are now expressing very strong entrenched views that they are not going anywhere with their father. I have just made an order that they are to go home with him.
“I have also made an order, subject to the power of arrest if anyone breaches it, that neither mum nor any member of her family are to go and talk to them.
“If these children refuse to go anywhere with their father, I would like you to exercise your emergency powers and take them into care.
“Those are the three options: they go home with dad or they go home with the director. They are not leaving this building with mum.”
He added: “If you need the assistance of police or security, downstairs will help with that.”
However, neither police nor the social workers were willing to physically force the children, who were described as “verging on hysterical”, into a refuge or into their father’s care.
One of the police officers told Mr Harman the children were in “a highly aggressive, agitated and hysterical state” and one social worker tried to explain it would be impossible to force the children to go with the father, since it may “see them break away, or run away, and be vulnerable on the streets”.
Mr Harman conceded defeat, saying: “These children have now been present in this court since 11.30am, and accordingly have been here for the best part of eight hours and have maintained a steadfast refusal to leave (the court) with the father.”
He said the children’s mother had helped whip “them into a frenzy” about being sent to a refuge, and so he agreed to let the children leave with a maternal aunt. Their mother was banned from any contact with them for a month, including by mobile telephone and email. She was also banned from going within 500m of their school.
The mother has told The Australian the order removing the children was overturned after a month, with no explanation.
“They came back to me, and they are still with me, and I never heard another word from the court until I suddenly got that apology (on November 9),” the mother said. “He did so much damage to my children, I believe he should be sacked.”
Mr Harman was asked to stand down from the court last month while he received counselling for a series of judgments that had to be overturned on appeal.
In one case, he revealed he had a sexual relationship with the lawyer who was acting for the wife, and then refused to disqualify himself from the hearing.
Mr Pascoe said he had been made aware of “some complaints” against Mr Harman, who had “agreed to be restricted to non-sitting duties”.
Mr Harman has since resumed hearing cases at Parramatta “on a limited basis” and is subject to continuing review of his performance.
He did not respond to a request for an interview.
Mr Harman was appointed by federal Attorney-General Robert McClelland in July last year. In a statement, Mr McClelland said he was “aware of concerns raised in relation to Federal Magistrate Harman in the performance of his judicial duties”.

Under the Federal Magistrates Act, magistrates “must not be removed from office, except by the Governor-General, on an address from both Houses of Parliament . . . praying for his or her removal on the grounds of proved misbehaviour or incapacity”.

Ted Nugent is, of course, right, in "No more child-abuse excuses" (Commentary, Friday) but he covered only half the story.
The rest of the story is that we must face the politically incorrect reality that women can be sexual predators, too. The most widely acknowledged examples are female schoolteachers.
The nation needs a paradigm shift wherein we acknowledge the existence of both male and female sexual predators. Support for such a paradigm shift can be found in a 2004 U.S. Department of Education report titled "Educator Sexual Misconduct: A Synthesis of Existing Literature," in which students reported that 43 percent of their molesters were female. Such a high proportion of female abusers demands action, including equal justice under law for both female and male predators.
Until we open our hearts and minds to the reality that women can be sexual predators and that female predators can inflict lifelong harm on those they abuse, our children will remain unprotected from nearly half of America's sexual predators.

Celebrities, politicians and high-ranking police officers will condemn violence against women as part of White Ribbon Day.
More than 200 events are being held across Australia on Friday to mark the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
Minister for the Status of Women, Kate Ellis, said men and women needed to be part of the campaign.
"Nearly one in three Australian women experience physical violence since the age of 15 and almost one in five women are victims of sexual violence," she said.
"We need to come together - men and women - to support the victims of violence and importantly, to say loud and clear that violence against women is not something that we will tolerate in Australia."
In Sydney, NSW Police Commissioner Andrew Scipione is leading a white walk against violence, where participants will swear never to commit, excuse or remain silent about violence against women.
Federal MPs Kevin Rudd, Joe Hockey and Peter Garrett have lent their support to White Ribbon Day, along with retired rugby league star Hazem El Masri, comedian Wil Anderson and television personality David Koch.
The UN General Assembly in 1999 declared November 25 as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, with a white ribbon as its symbol.
White Ribbon Day began in Australia in 2003, and is Australia's only national male-led violence prevention campaign.

Danmell Ndonye, a freshman at Hofstra University in New York, made the news last week after she accused five men of tying her up and taking turns sexually assaulting her in the bathroom stall of a campus dorm.Police acted quickly and arrested four of the accused rapists soon after Ndonye reported the crime. They spent the next 22 hours in jail while the media broadcast their names and faces across the country. The men were only released when the fifth suspect showed police video of the rendezvous that proved Ndonye had lied and the sex was consensual.

Confronted with the truth, Ndonye recanted her story and confessed to police she had made it up because she had been afraid to tell her boyfriend about the illicit encounter.

If the story sounds familiar, it should. It’s eerily reminiscent of the controversy that erupted in March 2006 when a stripper hired to dance at a party for the Duke University lacrosse team falsely accused several men on the team of raping her. Due to a lack of any corroborative evidence, investigators eventually dropped all charges against the players, though over a year after they were first accused and long after state prosecutors and media personalities had done irreparable damage to their reputations.

When it comes to crimes of sexual assault, we seem to always be in a rush to accuse and condemn the alleged perpetrators. Faced with such heinous crimes, we disregard the judicial process, favoring the rights of the victim and ignoring the rights of the accused.
Several studies show that the problem of false reports of rape may be greater than we realize:
A review of 556 rape accusations filed against Air Force personnel found that 27 percent of women later recanted.

According to a 1996 Department of Justice report, “in about 25 percent of the sexual assault cases referred to the FBI ... the primary suspect has been excluded by forensic DNA testing.”
In a nine-year study of 109 rapes reported to the police in a Midwestern city, Purdue sociologist Eugene J. Kanin reported that in 41 percent of the cases the complainants eventually admitted that no rape had occurred. In a follow-up study of rape claims filed over a three-year period at two large Midwestern universities, Kanin found that of 64 rape cases, 50 percent turned out to be false.
When the mere accusation of sexual assault can ruin a life, these numbers are frightening.
This controversy isn’t about men versus women, he said/she said. It’s about truth. The men Ndonye accused of rape were in jail for nearly a day before they were released. If not for video evidence, they may have spent 25 years in prison for first-degree rape.

They were proven innocent, but the damage to their reputations has already been done.
“Anytime anyone Googles my name, rape is going to be right there beside it. My name is forever tarnished,” one of the five men accused by Ndonye said in a recent New York Post article.
If women feel they’ve been sexually assaulted, they should report it to the police. Always. But they should never make a false accusation and ruin someone’s life simply because they’ve done something they regret.

Meanwhile, the rest of us should be more careful about condemning the accused before they have a chance to prove themselves innocent. Guilty or not, that’s their right.

Victory for Pastor Jones; Court Rules that Pastor’s Constitutional Rights Were Violated by “Peace Bond” Trial
November 11, 2011
ANN ARBOR, MI – Yesterday afternoon, Wayne County Circuit Judge Robert Ziolowski ruled that the Wayne County Prosecutor and Dearborn District Judge Mark W. Somers violated the constitutional rights of Pastor Terry Jones and his associate, Wayne Sapp, as a result of the “peace bond” proceedings brought against them this past Spring. The proceedings culminated with Judge Somers throwing Pastor Jones and Sapp behind bars because of their intended speech.
The Circuit Court ruling came in an appeal of the proceedings filed on behalf of Pastor Jones and Sapp by the Thomas More Law Center. The Law Center is a national public interest law firm based in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

In April 2011, Pastor Jones announced his plans to protest Jihad, Sharia Law and the radicalization of Muslims in America on public property in front of the Islamic Center of America, located in Dearborn, Michigan. It is the largest mosque in North America.

The City of Dearborn, with a history of anti-Christian policies, denied Pastor Jones a permit to exercise his free speech rights because of opposition and threats of violence from Dearborn’s large Muslim community. When Pastor Jones indicated that he intended to hold the free speech event anyway, the Wayne County Prosecutor, in cooperation with the City of Dearborn, filed a complaint in the Dearborn District Court. Under threat of arrest, police authorities forced Pastor Jones and Sapp into court where they had to stand trial to determine whether they intended to break the law.

Following the trial, the jury returned a verdict, finding that the free speech activity was likely to breach the peace. Judge Somers then imposed a $1 peace bond and issued an order that prohibited Pastor Jones or Sapp from going within the vicinity of the mosque, including the surrounding public property, for three years. When Pastor Jones and Sapp refused to pay the bond because it was a violation of their right to freedom of speech, Judge Somers committed them to the county jail.

Richard Thompson, President and Chief Counsel of the Thomas More Law Center, commented, “Pastor Jones had committed no crime and was not charged with a crime. Yet, he was forced into court and ultimately jailed because he intended to speak out against Jihad and Sharia Law.

Regardless of how one feels about Pastor Jones, he has a constitutionally protected free speech right to express his message. The heavy- handed actions of the City of Dearborn and the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office give us a glimpse of how imposition of Sharia Law, which forbids any criticism of Islam, will destroy that fundamental constitutional right.”

The district court’s judgment was appealed by the Thomas More Law Center, which argued that the peace bond proceedings violated the First Amendment and due process rights of Pastor Jones and Sapp. The Law Center also argued that the three year speech restriction violated the First Amendment.

In yesterday’s ruling, in addition to finding a violation of due process, Judge Ziolowski overturned on First Amendment grounds the District Court’s three-year injunction limiting Pastor Jones’ free speech rights by keeping him away from the mosque.

I can assure you that a untruthful CYF complaint made by a vengeful and vindictive maternal family resulted in the darkest period that I have ever experienced. It destroyed my family. I lost all contact with my two young daughters. Nothing happened about the hundreds of pages of false testimony as police had the dagger in deep and the corrupt court ran with the lies. The rest is history! Sad stuff but who cares? Just imagine if I had attacked my partners lying family for making a FALSE COMPLAINT to CYF? How many years would I have got judge Strettell? How these gender bias creeps can sleep at night is beyond my imagination.

Hollywood installed in us the firm belief in the happy end. Though we know that happy ends are rare, movies time after time enforce this hope, while reality undermines it. Last week, when the British High Court ruled to extradite Julian Assange to Sweden, the hope failed.
A few days earlier I’ve asked Julian what he will do if the court will set him free, after almost a year of house arrest with electronic bracelet on his foot. “I’ll be able to do things on the spur of the moment”, said he, – “unplanned, uncharted – just to go where I want to and do what I wish”. Alas, it is not to be.
This is the season for asses to bray at the captive lion. The Guardian, the newspaper that made millions on ripping Julian’s information mine and later turned into the greatest enemy of the Australian adventurer, published a sleazy piece by an editor of the slimy Swedish right-wing tabloid Expressen, a Ms Karin Olsson. Olsson tells the story of Swedes’ disappointment with Assange “from Hero to zero”, conveniently omitting her part in the action. Character assassination of Assange by media was to a great part her work. The Expressen obtained the news of two feminists’ visit to a friendly policewoman in real time, and splashed the headline “Sought for rape” immediately, before the paperwork reached the attorney office and before the charges were made.
It was fitting the Expressen agenda: the tabloid belongs to Karl Johan Bonnier, a Swedish Murdoch, and his media empire dutifully supported the right-wing government coalition, promoted Sweden’s participation in the US wars, in bombardment of Libya and sending troops to Afghanistan. The Guardian did not mind ordering the hit piece from the newspaper editor who published racist pieces calling for deportation of Arabs from the Swedish paradise. It is odd they did not ask an opinion piece from the Swedish prosecutor Ms Ny who famously said that a man belongs to jail, if a woman brings a complaint – even if the charges can’t make stick.

The costs of Assange’s persecution are huge. This story of shoppers’ regret recycled as rape has cost the realms of Britain and Sweden dearly, and nearly destroyed the person of Julian Assange. To give you an idea of the costs that were incurred at public expense, Julian’s lawyers have already presented him with a bill of 600,000 pounds (about a million US$) for his defence. Surely all the prosecuting lawyers and judges involved in this case will double and triple this considerable sum. Our governments don’t have enough money to pay for schools and health care, but they are always ready to spend millions to put a man behind bars for such a ridiculous charge.

Though there is certainly a political reason, the Assange case is not exceptional, for Sweden is a victim of cruel social experiment of re-gendering: recently, a Swedish man was sent to jail for 18 months for failing to properly wake up his girlfriend before beginning a session of morning sex. Swedish men have good reason to fear the Swedish justice system, and daily they grow more and more afraid of Swedish women. In response, they take foreign wives; they are also increasingly turning gay and adopting children from abroad.

What a shame! Sweden is home to the most dazzlingly beautiful women in the world: perfectly shaped, their blond manes blown by the wind; their blue eyes reflect frankness and encouragement.
Years ago, I was blown away after seeing them for the first time: dancing on a green lawn around a maypole, sun-tanning topless on a low wooden bridge protruding into a lake as blue as the sky above, and sitting like mermaids along the rocks – for Swedish soil is not too soft but full of great stones of iron and copper. These rocks were polished and rolled by the receding ice walls of millennia past when Sweden was freed from its long frozen captivity. The men of Svea laboriously arranged these immense monoliths around an ancient oak tree in imitation of a flotilla. There they heaped high mounds upon the burned remnants of mighty Viking chieftains. Centuries later, these ancient holy places attracted neighbouring churches, decorated from top to bottom by Albertus Pictor in the 15th century.
The oaks are still leafy and mighty, the lakes still clean, the stone armada still standing amid green meadows, but the churches are empty. They have become clubs for old ladies, led by a lady pastor – as I witnessed last Sunday in a beautiful church near Vasteras. Men have been slowly pushed out of positions of power in the Church, and now the worshippers have lost interest.
It is not only Swedish churches that have lost their manly shepherds, Swedish newspaper owners prefer to hire and advance obedient women like Karin Olsson; there are few male editors, excepting the gays. Swedish publishers now only publish books that will appeal to women; books that glorify women and depict men as monsters, like the dreadful Millennium Trilogy written by the PR-savvy Stieg Larsson. Swedish museums exhibit the kind of art that is designed to appeal to a female-centric New Age audience. Swedish universities are dominated by female professors. In Sweden, it hurts your career if you are discovered to be a heterosexual male. It feels like the country is at war with natural sexuality: the schoolbooks promote a unisex standard; children are referred to as “it” instead of “he” or “she”, and the lightest flirtation has been criminalised.
The war against males has not resulted in a more compassionate Sweden. The Swedish welfare state is being dismantled by the right-wing followers of Ronald Reagan; Neocon Karl Rove is sending Swedish soldiers to die for NATO in Afghanistan, and bombing Libya in the name of the Swedish state. Nor have the civilians of Sweden fared well under the new regime. They eat more junk food, and obesity – previously unknown in the North – now disfigures their once beautiful bodies. Their thoughts have been controlled by a newly consolidated media and their hard-won freedoms traded away in the name of compassion.

Looking back, it seems that Sweden’s freedoms, as well as our own, peaked just after the long-gone year of 1968. At the time, Sweden was the most implacable foe of the US-led war in Vietnam. US deserters once dreamt of escaping to fair Sweden with the same fervent desire of Heller’s Yossarian. In those days the Swedish girls pursued adventures, not legal strategies. Swedish men spent their days building up the church, moulding a uniquely Scandinavian social state, creating Bergman films and Volvo cars. Now even Volvo was sold off to the Americans, and they promptly sold it to the Chinese.

1968 was a turning point in America as well. In 1968, the richest Americans contributed 90% of their income to the state, while now they pay less than 30%. Never mind that they do not pay even that by the use of tax shelters, funds and other tricks. It was in 1968 that the American worker’s minimum pay peaked in real terms. Looking back, 1968 was the moment in history when mankind was nearest to the stars.

Children of the defeated ’68 revolution, we were free to love, smoke, think and act. We could travel and fly without being stripped at the airport, and our booze was not confiscated. We could make love and smoke in cafes. Since then, it was downhill all the way: smoke was banned, free thought was incarcerated by Political Correctness, and political action has been reduced to joining a Facebook group. Love has been turned into minefield by Victorian laws. We have been transported back to the days when Mr. Pickwick might be sued by his landlady for breach of promise. Sweden is not the only victim of this revolutionary zeal. Everywhere, all over the world, men are losing their place under the sun; it may be more than a coincidence that our freedoms vanish along with them.
Is there a method to this madness? The great conspiratorial mind and modern Russian prophet Alexandre Dugin declared that there is an ancient female conspiracy that aims to return us to a Matriarchy. Many conservative observers put the blame on feminists. Yet even though men have clearly lost the war, the victory of women wilts under examination. Once upon a time women had a choice: they could join the business world or stay at home with the kids. Once upon a time women could raise a family without guilt. Once upon a time women could enjoy being flirted with. Not any more. Unmanning man was quickly followed by the un-womaning of woman.
I think the reality is worse than Dugin’s wildest conspiracy. There is an understanding between the holders of power that feminised men are easier to control. Unmanning men is a linchpin in the reprogramming of mankind into an obedient herd, because strong men are unpredictable. Strong men are prone to rebellion, ready for sacrifice and primed for action. It is no coincidence that the enemies of Empire are all masculine males, be they Qaddafi, Castro, Chavez, Lukashenko, Putin – or Julian Assange. It appears the men have been targeted for elimination; the working ants need no sex.
The feminist agenda became the easiest way to lock the man up, as we learned from the DSK case. Dominique Strauss Kahn lost his coveted job at the helm of the IMF, and this powerful position passed to a woman who is not likely to jeopardise the US dollar supremacy.
A false statement by a professional cheat was all that was necessary to steal his freedom, which he regained after spending a lot of money. Another thing that was necessary was connivance of the mainstream media which is a sure sign that something is wrong.
DSK must be quite a man, judging by his excellent, gifted, strong-minded, and successful wife. It may be he is a Zionist Capitalist beast, but as one man to another I can’t fault him for making a pass at a “talented journalist and novelist in France”, nor for flirting with “a brilliant Hungarian economist”. He is, after all, a Frenchman first. They each had their opportunity to say “non”, and so they did. In a healthy society this would suffice.

Did DSK’s advances constitute “harassment”? Perhaps, but so what? I am continuously harassed by banks that send me offers of credit – are these less damaging to my psyche than an offer to frolic in the hay? Is a business proposition less annoying than an amorous one? These women simply refused his advances, just as I refuse the banks – and yet I do not resort to the courts, whereas they have sought both compensation and revenge. Might we not just as well sue the Zuleika Dobsons of this world for the sexual power they hold over their unwilling thralls? Must we castrate our men, cover our women, or erect separation walls like the ones on Indian trains?

The attacks on Assange, DSK and Qaddafi are all part and parcel of the campaign to unman humanity. The Empire hates Lukashenko and Putin not only because they do not let them seize the country’s assets, but also for their outspoken masculinity. Eric Walberg in his Great Games speaks of the deeper strategy behind the colour revolutions: their organisers “castrate modern states” in order to transform them into post-modern weaklings. This “castration” is an important plan of the rulers, far more profound than the ephemeral struggles over pipelines and resources.
The defeat of Julian Assange is a defeat for all the men, and a defeat for mankind, promising a bleak future – unless we shall do something about it. It is not only our freedom but our manhood is at stake.

Long before this kind of policy was ever implemented by a company, God spoke of His own zero-tolerance policy for gossip and slander among His people (Lev. 19:16). Idle talk that foolishly or maliciously spreads rumors or facts about another person was forbidden.

Solomon said that speaking badly of others could have disastrous effects. It betrays confidence (Prov. 11:13), separates close friends (16:28; 17:9), shames and saddles you with a bad reputation (25:9-10), and perpetually fuels the embers of a quarrel (26:20-22). People rarely can undo the damage their untrue words have done to a neighbor.

One in 10 Falsely Accused of Abuse: Survey

Washington, DC/October 17, 2011 — One in 10 adults has been falsely accused of domestic violence, child abuse, or sexual assault, according to a survey conducted by Stop Abusive and Violent Environments (SAVE). The survey also found a strong disparity between the number of males and females falsely accused: more than three quarters of all false accusations are levied against men. Nearly seven in 10 false accusers are female.

The survey is the first of its kind to be undertaken, and uncovers distressing trends within the American abuse-reduction system.
Child abuse is the commonest false charge — about twice as many people have been falsely accused of child abuse as of domestic violence or sexual assault. In over one quarter of cases, the false allegations were made in a child custody case.
“Each year, millions of innocent Americans are falsely accused of abuse,” explains SAVE spokesman Philip W. Cook. “These false allegations can strip persons of their assets, harm their families, and ruin their lives.”
Because of these widespread injustices, Cook said, SAVE has launched its Campaign 2012, a grassroots effort to reform U.S. domestic violence laws: http://www.saveservices.org/campaign-2012/

In the 21st century, it’s an obscenity that people are dying because they can’t get enough food to eat. Every one of those 30,000 children is part of a family – a son, a daughter, sister or brother. We can’t imagine what it must be like to starve to death, but most of us know what it’s like to lose someone we love.

Men want more family time – but say their career would suffer if they ask for it

Men want a better work-life balance but stop short of asking for time off or flexible working arrangements because they fear their career would suffer if they did, according to new research released today by advocacy organisation The 100% Project.

The research, ‘Men at Work: what they want and why it matters for women’ is based on a national survey carried out by The 100% Project with the support of Deakin University’s School of Psychology. The research found women were just as committed to their careers as men – and men were just as committed to their families as women.

The survey found that: 30 percent of men and 26 percent of women believe asking for greater work-life balance would negatively affect their career progression; 51 percent of women had asked their employer for a better work-life balance at some time during their career, but only 39 percent of men had and; 13 percent of men and 21 percent of women believe that managers look negatively on employees who take a lot of leave or ‘flex’ their time.
Chair of The 100% Project Frances Feenstra said Australia is a long way from achieving gender equality in appointments to senior management teams and Boards.

“Much of the research on this issue focuses on what women want,” Ms Feenstra said. “The 100% Project believes we won’t achieve real change unless we actively engage men. We wanted to find out if men are happy with the typical Australian workplace - and many of them aren’t”.

“If men don’t feel they can ask for the flexible working arrangements that would allow them to contribute more meaningfully to their family life, then women will continue to carry most of the burden. And that will impact on how successful they are in their career.

“Working long hours in full time jobs with little flexibility may not be what many men want, but it gives them an advantage in the competition for senior positions.”

In a foreword tothe report, Australia’s Sex Discrimination Commissioner, Elizabeth Broderick, said that there are complex cultural issues at play in the persistence of gender inequality in many of our businesses and organisations.

“Why don’t men take advantage of flexible arrangements such as part time work to the same extent as their female colleagues do? The male respondents in this research said it was because they think their career will suffer if they do,” Ms Broderick wrote in her foreword to the report.

“That for me is one of the most significant and depressing findings of the research. I would like to see more men having flexible working arrangements and working part time.”

The 100% Project is developing a program called Facing the Challenge designed to help CEOs identify and act on the formal and informal barriers to the promotion of women into many senior roles.

The research report will be launched in Melbourne on August 30 and a panel, featuring Sue Conde AM, Catherine Fox, Richard Umbers and Robert Wood, will debate the issue.

Checking out at the store, the young cashier suggested to the older woman, that she should bring her  own grocery bags because plastic bags weren't good for the environment.The woman apologized and explained, "We didn't have this green thing back in my earlier days."The clerk responded, "That's our problem today. Your generation did not care enough to save our environment for future generations."She was right -- our generation  didn't have the green thing in its day.

Back then, we returned milk bottles, soda bottles and beer bottles to the store. The store sent them back to the plant to be washed and sterilized and refilled, so it could use the same bottles over and over. So they really were recycled. But we didn't have the green thing back in our day.

We walked up stairs, because we didn't have an escalator in every store and office building. We walked to the grocery store and didn't climb into a 300-horsepower machine every time we had to go two blocks.But she was right.We didn't have the green thing in our day.

Back then, we washed the baby's diapers because we didn't have the throw-away kind. We dried clothes on a line, not in an energy gobbling machine burning up 220 volts – wind and solar power really did dry our clothes back in our early days. Kids got hand-me-down clothes from their brothers or sisters, not always brand-new clothing. But that young lady is right; we didn't have the green thing back in our day.

Back then, we had one TV, or radio, in the house -- not a TV in every room. And the TV had a small screen the size of a handkerchief (remember them?), not a screen the size of the state of Montana . In the kitchen, we blended and stirred by hand because we didn't have electric machines to do everything for us. When we packaged a fragile item to send in the mail, we used wadded up old newspapers to cushion it, not Styrofoam or plastic bubble wrap. Back then, we didn't fire up an engine and burn gasoline just to cut the lawn.  We used a push mower that ran on human power. We exercised by working so we didn't need to go to a  health club to run on treadmills that operate on electricity. But she's right; we didn't have the green thing back then.

We drank from a fountain when we were thirsty instead of using a cup or a plastic bottle every time we had a drink of water. We refilled writing pens with ink instead of buying a new pen, and we  replaced the razor blades in a razor instead of throwing away the whole razor just because the blade got dull. But we didn't have the green thing back then.

Back then, people took the streetcar or a bus and kids rode their bikes to school or walked instead of turning their moms into a 24-hour taxi service. We had one electrical outlet in a room, not an entire bank of sockets to power a dozen appliances. And we didn't need a computerized gadget to receive a signal beamed from satellites 2,000 miles out in space in order to find the nearest pizza joint.

But isn't it sad that the current generation laments how wasteful we old folks were just because we didn't have the green thing back then?

Please forward this on to another selfish old person who needs a lesson in conservation from a smart-arse young person.

sexually abused her, the High Court heard today.
Twisted Victoria Haigh manufactured sex abuse allegations about ex-partner
David Tune then encouraged her daughter, now seven, to repeat them.
Ms Haigh, who was locked in a custody battle with Mr Tune, hired a private
investigator and together they spread the malicious accusations via e-mail
and over the internet.
But Sir Nicholas Wall, President of the Family Division of the High Court,
said the claims were untrue and Ms Haigh's actions had been 'wholly
contrary' to her daughter's interests.
He said he had decided to sit in open court so that the public could be told
that Mr Tune was 'not a paedophile' and made an order that Ms Haigh could
not make any application in relation to her daughter without his permission
for two years.
Sir Nicholas ruled that Ms Haigh and Mr Tune could be identified, but he
said the little girl - referred to as 'x' in court - should not be named.
He told the court: 'Allegations of sexual abuse were first made by the
mother and not by x.
'These were false and the mother knew them to be false.'
He added: 'X was coached by the mother to make allegations of sexual abuse
against the father.'
Sir Nicholas said two judges examined the case at previous High Court
hearings and both found that Mr Tune was not a paedophile and had not
sexually abused his daughter.
'The first judge found that allegations of sexual abuse made against the
father of a young child were not just untrue but manufactured by the child's
mother, who then caused her daughter to repeat them,' said Sir Nicholas.'
'Because the mother was wholly incapable of fostering a relationship between
her daughter and the child's father, refused to accept the judge's findings
and continued to assert that the father was a paedophile, a second judge
found that her mother had caused the child significant harm.'
The little girl, now living with her father, was subject to a care plan
organised by a local authority in, Doncaster, South Yorkshire, the hearing
in London was told.
Judges have previously heard evidence about the case at private hearings.
He added: 'The child's mother is wholly unable to accept the court's verdict
and, with the misguided assistance of Elizabeth Watson has unlawfully and in
breach of court orders put into the public domain via email and the internet
a series of unwarranted and scandalous allegations about the father and
others.
'She has repeated the untruth that the father is a paedophile and - without
a scintilla of evidence - has attacked the good faith of all the
professionals who had had any contact with the case.
'I have read all the papers in the case carefully. The father of the child,
who may be named, is not a paedophile and he has not sexually abused his
daughter. Two judges have so found.'
He added: 'I have come to the conclusion that ... I should ... give a public
judgment in which I explain, having read all the papers in the case, that I
have reached the same conclusion as the two previous judges.'
Sir Nicholas went on: 'These proceedings have had a serious effect on the
life of the father and have threatened the stability of the child. Her
mother's actions are wholly contrary to her interests.
'The father is entitled to tell the world, and the world is entitled to
know, that he is not a paedophile, that he has not sexually abused his

As a responsible kiwi father of four New Zealand born children I am deeply ashamed that we fork-out $6 billion every year on the health, judicial, social and welfare costs associated with child poverty issues resulting from the deterioration of the family unit Happy kiwi kids need positive role model parents who take responsibility for providing them with a stable and happy childhood .The all important child nurturing years shouldn't be spent in a hideous poverty trap. Many factors help with creating child poverty, however I have no doubts that government agencies and gender bias policy is directly responsible for large scale child poverty. Poor dysfunctional children are created through a fractured family industry that thrives on the destruction of the family unit. We live in a society that enjoys the widespread demonization of fatherhood. The criminal justice system and the feminist driven family court could not survive if we had fair gender balanced scales of justice.

The countless government paid commissioners, lawyers, psychologists, social workers and overpaid judges all make a healthy profit from the dysfunctional family file number. No thought is ever given to addressing the issues like fatherlessness that trigger most anti social child behaviours, as all resources are directed at the destruction of the father. Many dads simply walk away from their children, because they know that fighting for access and custodial matters in the feminist driven family court is an exercise in futility.Unhappy children are nurtured in hate lessons by the cruel and evil family court. Two weeks ago Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Democratic National Committee chair, met her match in one Rep. Allen West. It seems that Wasserman Schultz waited until West left the House floor, then cut loose with a liberal jeremiad for the congressman's support of the GOP-supported Cut, Cap, and Balance Act.
Apprised of the incident, the former Lieutenant Colonel fired back, calling her "the most vile, unprofessional, and despicable member of the House of Representatives...If you have something to say to me, stop being a coward and say it to my face."
It wasn't the first time the libber-turned-congresswoman saw her grandstanding tactics backfire.
A couple months ago Wasserman Schultz accused House Republicans seeking to cut off taxpayer abortion funds with waging a "war on women."
In the past, the slightest suggestion of a GOP "war on women" would be enough to bring out the white flag a-flutter. But this time the stiff-spined GOP refused to be buffaloed by the high-octane rhetoric. Within days a group of Republican women fired back, calling Wasserman Schultz's demagoguery "baseless" and "inaccurate."
For years, feminists have succeeded in dictating the parameters and vocabulary of the gender debate. By trotting out a sympathetic victim, playing on lawmaker chivalry, or resorting to outright falsehoods, feminists have been able to maintain hegemony over the public discourse. Politicians, newspaper editors, even university presidents learned to toe the feminist line, or else become tagged with the "anti-woman" moniker.
All that changed on February 18. That's the day the U.S. House of Representatives' continuing resolution bill scrapped the funding for Planned Parenthood's abortion business.
In short order, revenue-pinched state legislatures took up the same refrain. Planned Parenthood funding cuts were approved in Indiana, Kansas, and North Carolina. Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels signed HB 1210, prohibiting abortion providers from receiving state funds.
Another sacred cow of radical feminism is the near-automatic award of child custody to a divorcing woman. The fact that children who lose contact with their loving fathers are far more likely to drop out of school and get in trouble with the law doesn't seem to register with feminist logic (forgive the oxymoron, if you will).
But in recent weeks, a bevy of Republican presidential candidates, including Herman Cain and Gary Johnson, lined up to pronounce the current system deeply flawed. Newt Gingrich castigated the "extreme anti-male bias" of family courts.
Another gem in the feminist diadem is the Violence Against Women Act, which is used as a slush fund by domestic violence groups to support lobbying efforts for a broad array of radical causes. But two weeks ago, House Judiciary Committee member Ted Poe vowed to make the law gender neutral. "I certainly agree with equal protection under the law. And maybe a name change is in order," the Texas congressman explained.
And it's not just politicians who are poking holes in the feminist catechism of gender victimhood.
Following its embarrassing overtime loss to the Japanese women's soccer team, Bryant Gumbel of HBO Sports revealed the double-standard that permeates sports reporting these days. "Had a men's team turned in a similar performance," Gumbel commented, "papers and pundits nationwide would have had a field day assailing the players, criticizing the coach, and demanding widespread changes to a men's national team that flat-out choked."
Then the cheeky "Everything I Do Is Wrong" campaign by the California Milk Processor Board that lampooned clueless men and hormone-addled women. The campaign triggered the wrath of the feminist Politburo, with Ms. Magazine demanding an immediate end to the "sexist" campaign.
The Ms. Magazine antics elicited this rejoinder from columnist Jenn Taylor: "What better way to expose portrayals of women as irrational whiners and hysterical bitches than by whining irrationally and bitching hysterically?"
It gets worse.
It's one thing when conservative knuckle-draggers delight in the excesses of feminism. But when a fellow liberal debunks a feminist sacred cow, that's hitting below the belt!
That's exactly what the current issue of Time magazine does — it puts to the lie the shibboleth that working women pull a second shift when they come home, facing a pile of dirty laundry and shrieking kids, as dad lounges on the porch to watch the Dodgers game. According to Ruth Davis Konigsberg, "Quantitatively speaking, we have no grounds to stand on. And it's time that women — myself included — admit it and move on."
It's getting harder and harder for the gender guerillas to play the victim card. Things are looking grim.
